Among Futureco Bioscience's Corporate Social Responsibility activities for civil society, the company organizes guided tours for students in their last years of secondary and university education. The purpose of these visits is promoting scientific vocations and showing in a practical way how to apply what they have learned in a scientific career, in the context of a real business.
These guided tours consist of a presentation of the history of the company, how the idea of developing clean plant protection and nutrition solutions was born almost 25 years ago, and the process of research, development, manufacture and marketing of the products. Afterwards, the students are guided through the laboratories, attending to what is done in each one, as well as understanding the techniques and equipment used for each step of research.
The students are divided in two teams that must solve the challenge to develop a solution to a real problem on an agricultural crop. At the end of the visit the work of each team is discussed, and the session with questions and impressions recapitulated. The students usually leave very happy and satisfied with what they learned during the visit, as has been the case of the group of students of the BD of Plant Physiology, Genetics and Biotechnology of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, who visited the facilities of Futureco Bioscience on November 22.
