We have published the Ecoletter 23 that includes the trials that show that FitoMaat® improves the response of plants to stress by enhancing the expression of genes for tolerance to desiccation. These trials have been done through the Futuromics platform, with Sequentia Biotech.
FitoMaat® is a biostimulant designed to protect plants from the effects of abiotic stress, formulated with osmoprotective and antioxidant substances that allow crops to tolerate and recover better from periods of salt stress, lack or excess of water and extreme temperatures.
To demonstrate how this antistress biostimulant protects plants under stress at a molecular level, overexpressed genes were analysed and compared in plants without stress, with stress non-treated, and with stress treated with FitoMaat®.
The results of these trials show that the application of FitoMaat® in plants under stress due to salinity reduces the accumulation of Proline, an indicator of osmotic stress, and that this biostimulant modulates the expression of genes that code for enzymes of biosynthesis and modification of the cell wall and sugars involved in the balance between tissues and organs, to better support osmotic imbalances resulting from stress due to excess or lack of water and salts.
